About me

I am an experienced Counsellor/Psychotherapist who can adapt to your needs to where you want to get to. By offering you compassion, acceptance and the opportunity to be listened to I can help you reach your full potential.

I have been working as a therapist for over fifteen years and have been able to experience with people the personal growth that they have developed though counselling and seen the changes that they have implemented in their lives.

Having a passion about counselling and loving the idea of supporting people through their journeys,  work in a humanist integrative approach, with the use of a Person Centred approach, Gestalt, CBT and Solution Focused.

I provide both long term and short term counselling for individuals and couples and offer a free 30 minute, no obligation session where you can come and meet me, ask me questions or use it as a short counselling session to use as an opportunity to discover to see if you feel comfortable working with me and are able to build a therapeutic relationship with me which is important for counselling to take place. If after the 30 minutes, you are happy and would like to continue the counselling sessions, I will book you in for an assessment.

Training, qualifications & experience

Counselling Approach

I am qualified and work in a Humanistic approach as I believe everyone is different and what works for one person may not work for another. Therefore I like to use skills from a Person Centred approach with the use of CBT skills, Solution Focused Therapy and Gestalt Therapy. I am a BACP Accredited Member and am an Accredited Registrant Member of the National Counselling Society and abide by ethical framework of the BACP.

BACP

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
