About me

I work in Vauxhall (SE1 7SJ) close to major transport hubs. I work with people experiencing difficulties with issues such as:

  • Abuse
  • Addiction
  • Anger
  • Anxiety
  • Bullying at work
  • Depression and low self-esteem
  • Despair and sense of hopelessness
  • Grief and sadness
  • Identity problems
  • Loneliness and isolation
  • Relationships problems
  • Repetitive patterns in life
  • Self-harming
  • Sense of worthlessness
  • Stress
  • Work problems

How it works?

Therapy can be a shorter process, focused on a particular problem. Or it can be open ended deeper exploration of difficulties in life. It is an opportunity for you to share and explore both the present and the past in a safe and confidential setting.

An initial consultation takes between 60-90 minutes and it will help you decide whether this kind of therapy is right for you. Weekly therapy sessions take 50 minutes at the same agreed time and day. Therapy may be open-ended allowing longer time and space for us to explore nature of your problems or time-limited (12 sessions) with a focus on a particular problem in your life.

What to do next?

You may call or write to me and I will endeavour to respond within 24 hours during the working week. We may have a brief telephone conversation or e-mail exchange before we meet for an initial consultation.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a fully qualified and registered psychodynamic psychotherapist (FPC, BPC, UKCP). I provide psychological consultation and treatment in private practice in two Central London locations (Victoria and London Bridge). I trained with WPF Therapy (Westminster Pastoral Foundation) and Birkbeck College.

I have been working at South London and Maudsley NHS Mental Health Trust with patients with complex emotional and psychological difficulties.

My previous experience involves international development and post-conflict work. I am familiar with the challenges of complex identity, trauma and emergency situations, as well as many of the challenges of overseas personal and professional life.

Member organisations

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BPC
British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC)

The British Psychoanalytic Council (BPC) is a professional association, representing the profession of psychoanalytic psychotherapy.

The organisation is itself made up of fourteen member organisations and BPC accredits the trainings of its member organisations. An individual who qualifies from one of these trainings is then eligible for entry into the BPC's register.

BPC registrants are governed by a code of ethics, a policy of continuing professional development, a statement on confidentiality and a complaints procedure. The BPC is a Member Society of the European Federation for Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy in the Public Sector (EFPP). Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
