About me

Are you looking for someone to help you find a way forward? Are you floundering and wondering how to make sense of things in these challenging times? Would you feel more comfortable with someone older with a lot of life experience?

I believe that everyone can get to a more positive place but may need a little help to get there. Therapy can offer you a safe and confidential space to be heard and support you in seeing more clearly, gaining a new perspective. I know from past personal experience what it is to feel overwhelmed and the difference that counselling can make.

I will listen with compassion and understanding, without judgement and with the wisdom that comes with age and experience, to whatever is troubling you and holding you back. I won’t tell you what to do but I will provide support and guidance as you find your own answers. I am comfortable with whatever you want to share including things you may feel reluctant to bring, such as death, spirituality or sexuality.

Training, qualifications & experience

I have a Professional Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy and a Certificate in Couples Counselling. I have experience of working on both short-term - with the NHS IAPT service, and long-term basis. I have a particular interest in, and experience of, working with issues of age, bereavement, abuse in childhood but also work with many other issues such as self-esteem, depression and anxiety.

As an integrative therapist with a firm grounding in Person Centred theory, I will work with you at your pace and with what you want to bring, always with your informed consent. Together we will explore what has brought you to counselling and how this issue might be resolved.

Please contact me by phone, text or email, without commitment or obligation to arrange an initial session to see if I feel the right person with whom to share what is troubling you.

Registered / Accredited

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Wheelchair user access

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
