About me

How wonderful would it be to just be yourself?

Relationship issues and anxiety can often create a feeling of not being heard and fear of expressing your true self.

Gaining confidence and acceptance for who you are could help you feel capable of tackling life’s many challenges from a different perspective.

Focusing on genuine change and therapeutic learning in a safe space, you can begin to increase your self awareness and take control of your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.

I can work with:

  • Anxiety
  • Relationships
  • Narcissist Victims
  • Domestic Abuse
  • Low self-esteem/confidence
  • Anger
  • OCD
  • Loss/Bereavement
  • Stress
  • Depression
  • Trauma
  • Dissociation
  • Apathy

I am here to understand. Call - 07719 915482 text or email.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am an integrative counsellor, which means that I am able to use various approaches separately or together in order to facilitate helpful change. I use cognitive behavioural therapy, psychodynamics, humanistic and transpersonal therapy. I also have personal and professional experience with art, play and sand therapy. I have particular experience and training in bereavement and loss, domestic violence, low self-esteem, social anxiety, narcissism and victims of narcissism, along with many other issues. I have worked with people of all ages and enjoy working with children, young people, women and men alike.

I believe all people no matter what gender, social background or ethnic origin are valuable and worthy of respect. Family dynamics, culture and expectations can all lead to anxiety and depression which can be hidden in the unconscious mind. I have found that connecting with a person's learning style and using visual aids such as cards, metaphors and drawings can significantly help even the adult mind to reflect on positive change. A toolkit can be collaboratively created to help you find your personal best coping mechanisms. Confidentiality, care and integrity underpin my philosophy in forming a trusting working relationship to help empower all my clients toward positive change.

I hold a BA (Hons) Degree in Integrative Counselling and have training in bereavement, art and play therapy. I am also a Domestic Violence Champion with child and adult safeguarding training. I also attend continued professional development throughout each year to keep up with new legislation and research. Some of these have been dissociation, trauma and post traumatic stress disorder. I am a Registered Member (339667) of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) who set out an ethical framework for my profession. I am currently study a Masters in Business Psychology and can therefore also help with occupational psychology in the workplace, alongside career development. I hold a current DBS to reassure vulnerable people and children and their carers of my integrity.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
