About me

A bit about me:

Hi, I'm Kirsty and I'm a BACP Accredited Psychological Therapist providing confidential online sessions.   I’ve been working with clients for over 12 years and in mental health for 15 years.

Do you feel stuck in life and not too sure how to make the changes you want? Are you ready to tap into your inner resources? I can help you by providing a safe and confidential space, to begin to challenge the negative self beliefs that are holding you back.  I understand it's really hard to seek out help, but by talking that first step and making contact, you are  on the right road to making changes in your life.  I can help you to feel more equipped to make any changes you'd like to make.

If you are feeling overwhelmed and anxious by life’s demands, especially in todays circumstances, I can help you to better manage the emotional stress of everyday life. I always aim to build a safe and confidential environment for you to begin to try and work through any issues you are having. Through experiencing a supportive non judgemental therapeutic relationship you can begin to make changes in your life, whatever these may be. Therapy can also give you the space to begin to connect to painful feelings and safely process them, and can give you the space to vocalise how you are feeling.

I hold a Masters degree in Psychological Counselling and I also have BA (Hons) in Psychology.  I have varied therapeutic experiences and have worked in various universities,  NHS departments, psychiatric settings and various employee assistance programmes. I can work with you in both short term or longer term, depending on what life experiences you are bringing. I work with individuals over 18 & you must be a UK resident to access online sessions.

Ways of working

I am trained in a variety of different approaches that can help you to understand the difficulties you are experiencing in your life. I have experience of working in brief therapy and more longer term open ended therapy. We will work together to decide what therapeutic approach is best for you, we often require different things at different points in our lives. Having a safe and non-judgemental environment can help us to connect with our feelings, and can help us to recognise the things in our life we want to change.

I can also offer a more structured solution focused way of working based on the cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) model, which aims to identify and challenge negative ways of thinking we have adopted and can help us to change behaviours that no longer serve us. ​Person Centred Therapy

Person centred therapy provides you with a safe and non judgmental relationship, allowing you to freely express any emotions and feelings. This will enable you to come to terms with negative feelings, which may have caused emotional problems, and to begin to develop inner resources and ways of coping. A safe and caring environment can help us to begin to connect with our feelings and can even help us to recognise the things in our life we might want to change. Additionally person centred counselling can provide you with time and space to help you to begin to come to terms with the loss of a loved one.

Cognitive Behavioural Therapy

Cognitive behavioural therapy (CBT) helps you to recognise that negative thinking patterns can have an affect on how we feel and how we behave. The aim of therapy is to help you to challenge these negative thought patterns and behaviours. Overall, CBT aims to try and help you to work through negative thinking patterns to allow a more realistic way of viewing situations leading to more satisfying relationships with your self and others.

Life Coaching

Feeling stuck & stagnant? Life Coaching can help you to step inside the right mindset and help you to create changes in your life. Sessions are goal focused and action based, and can help provide you with the space to bring clarity on how you would like your life to be. ​Life Coaching can help with area such as: work/career changes, work life balance issues, & personal development

Outwith counselling I run my own floristry business, I really enjoy working with flowers & being in nature. I also trained in reiki level 1& 2.

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.


British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

£60 per 1 hour counselling session.
£60 per 1 hour telephone counselling session

For every 6 sessions block booking you receive 10% off.

Cancellation charges to apply if the session is cancelled less with than 48 hours notice.
