About me

Hello and welcome to my counselling profile.

I am an experienced, professionally trained, Psychodynamic Psychotherapist. I provide weekly therapy sessions to individuals both online and in-person from my consulting room in Haggerston (E8), which is just a short walk from Haggerston Overground and the nearby Dalston Kingsland Overground station.

As a registered professional member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy), I work within strict professional guidelines and fully comply with the BACP ethical code.

I worked for several years within the NHS and currently work in private practice full-time. In private practice I welcome anyone who feels that therapy might be useful, whether you are just looking to have a few sessions to think about a specific issue, or situation, or are considering longer term psychotherapy for more complex and deep-rooted difficulties.

Psychotherapy can effectively help you to work through issues that are causing some concern or difficulty. Stress, anxiety, feeling low or depressed, relationship difficulties, self-esteem, repeated patterns, bereavement, self-esteem, work problems, life-changes are just some of the reasons why you might want to try psychotherapy. Or you may simply want to get to know and understand yourself better.

Many people find it helpful to talk to an objective, professionally trained person outside of their family or circle of friends. Choosing the right therapist is important and involves finding someone you feel you can trust and work with. In my experience it is often the strength of the relationship between the client and therapist which is the best indicator of a good outcome.

Whatever your reason for considering therapy, I provide a safe, confidential space where we can meet each week and work together towards better understanding the things that are on your mind and you want some help in thinking about.

You are welcome to contact me by telephone or email to discuss the possibility of working together, ask any questions that you might have, or to arrange an initial appointment. I will get back to you promptly and in the strictest confidence.

Sessions are 50 minutes long and my standard fee is £70

I will respond to you in good time and all correspondence between us will be confidential.

Training, qualifications & experience

I undertook my professional training at WPF Therapy, one of the leading academic and clinical institutions for Psychotherapy in the UK, and have worked as part of a Specialist Psychotherapy Service team within the NHS.

LGBTQI+ affirmative.

I am a registered member of the BACP and, as such, I adhere to the BACP professional code of ethics.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
