Kirstin Turner BA (Hons), Registered Member MBACP
Counselling offers support and help for a variety of issues. My aim is to build a therapeutic relationship; where clients can experience honest empathic understanding, acceptance and non judgement.
My counselling approach is informed by Heinz Kohut's work on Self Psychology, John Bowlby's attachment theory, Carl Rogers Person Centred Approach and elements of CBT.
I believe in the ability to change, and I offer a safe, private and ethical space to support clients to make the changes they need to in order to live a more fulfilled life.
There may be instances where we can work 'creatively'; this can support individuals for whom finding the right words for their feelings can be difficult. Working creatively might involve using images to better explain how you feel, or working with stones to explore family and relationship feelings and dynamics.
If you feel ready to take the next step of making contact; please give me a call or send me an email. We can then discuss your concerns briefly and set up an initial meeting. During this you can explore what you need from counselling, ask any questions and discover if it feels right for you. At this point we can then discuss setting up regular sessions, either weekly or fortnightly for example.
