About me

My name is Kirstie Eames and I’m here to help and support you to gain the skills you need to make a positive move forward.

I offer one to one Integrative and Trauma counselling in a safe, confidential, Empathetic, non-judgemental space for you to be able to promote healing, build self-awareness, build self-esteem and to be heard to help you move forward in your life.

As a trauma informed therapist I can provide a grounded presence where you can begin to explore your trauma while feeling safe, listened to, and held. I’m a therapist who is trained in how to work with trauma will be able to offer one to one talking therapy,  grounding techniques for the nervous system and awareness in the here-and-now so that you can start to feel safe.

This helps you learn how to come down from hyper-arousal ( spinning thought process, heart racing and to much energy) or up from hypo- arousal (low mood, no energy or can't get moving) and helps you to feel more grounded and balanced.

I can help and support a trauma survivor to recognise their resources and skills, and to build on these. In therapy, the trauma survivor may be able to learn how to regulate emotions and feel safer in the here-and-now. Working with me can help you to understand trauma symptoms, and to start to work through your experiences.

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
