About me
I have been practicing psychotherapy for over 24 years where I have been supporting adults to make successful changes in their lives. By establishing a safe and secure environment you can talk about your worries and concerns both past and present in a confidential setting. Psychotherapy fosters self-growth and equips you with resources to live a more fulfilling life which may be the most valuable investment you will ever make. Wherever you are in your life I will work with you to understand your situation and provide guidance to help you attain what you are looking for. Difficulties in relationships, trauma, stress, depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, parent/child relationship difficulties, family breakdowns amongst others are all issues I am very experienced with.
I am empathic and warm towards my clients and I firmly believe that psychotherapy provides a safe place within which each client can begin to reclaim a sense of identity and self-esteem from the chaos of modern life.
Each client is different, so I tailor each session around what's going on for you at the moment. I also work with trauma and provide new ways of how to deal with traumatic memories. I also specialise in Attachment Therapy which is the basis of any relationship and can help me see where the strengths and difficulties are in how you form relationships. The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself and by entering therapy this will allow you to know yourself better which will give you the confidence to choose and construct healthy relationships.
I believe that building a good rapport between myself and my client is the building block of a good therapeutic relationship. To be able to share the journey with my client is by far the most beautiful experience, albeit being painful.
I offer both short and long term therapy, sessions are held once a week and are 50 minutes long. I abide by the BACP professional code of ethics.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
Areas of counselling I deal with
Other areas of counselling I deal with
I undertake attachment assessments that place an emphasis on gaining a full understanding of family history and relationships. Having completed extensive psychological training in a number of validated assessment procedures, these assessments offer an in depth analysis of individual and family functioning. The assessment procedures used are developmentally sensitive and include the:
The Adult Attachment Interview (AAI)
Understanding how individuals process information and how things come to be, informs intervention. Without this, interventions are likely to be ineffective.
