About me

I work with children, adults, couples and families who are experiencing emotional, behavioural and psychological problems such as depression, anxiety, panic attacks, low self-esteem, stress, relationship difficulties, family breakdowns, eating disorders, amongst others. I provide a safe and non-judgemental place where you can share your worries, issues and problems in order to come in contact with what is going on in your life and to be able to resolve them.

Each client is different, so I tailor each session around what's going on for you. I practice Mindfulness and Existential therapy which helps you to focus on what's happening in the moment. I also specialise in Attachment Therapy which is the basis of any relationship and can help me see where the strengths and difficulties are in how you form relationships. The most important relationship is the one you have with yourself and by entering therapy this will allow you to know yourself better which will give you the confidence to choose and construct healthy relationships.

I believe that building a good rapport between myself and my client is the building block of a good therapeutic relationship. To be able to share the journey with my client is by far the most beautiful experience, albeit being painful.

Psychotherapy fosters self-growth and equips you with the skills to live a more fulfilling life.

I offer both short and long term therapy, sessions are held once a week and are 50 minutes long. I abide by the BACP professional code of ethics.

Other areas of counselling I deal with

I undertake attachment and family assessments that place an emphasis on gaining a full understanding of family history and relationships. Having completed extensive psychological training in a number of validated assessment procedures, these assessments offer an in depth analysis of individual and family functioning. The assessment procedures used are developmentally sensitive and include the:

The Adult Attachment Interview (AAI)

The Parent Development Interview

The School Age Assessment of Attachment

Child Attachment

Play Assessment.

Understanding how individuals process information and how things come to be, informs intervention. Without this, interventions are likely to be ineffective.

Fees

I charge £55 per session.

I am a provider for BUPA health insurance.
