About me
I am a Psychotherapeutic Counsellor (Reg. MBACP) and work with adults (18+), in-person in Newcastle upon Tyne, or online.
I am a person centred, integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, therefore I create a tailored and flexible approach to counselling using a range of techniques and interventions, adapting to meet the unique needs of each client.
I recognise the holistic well-being of the client, considering biological, physical, psychological, social, cultural, and spiritual factors that may influence mental health.
I provide a confidential, non-judgemental and compassionate space and will work collaboratively with you to explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviours.
The space is nondirective so you can bring to sessions whatever feels most important to you, whether that be a difficulty in the present or something unresolved from the past. In addition to focussing on the here and now, exploring past relationships and experiences can be a useful part of the work. The awareness gained from this process can support you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and achieve the outcomes you desire.
I can support you with stress, anxiety, low self-esteem, low mood, depression, loneliness, trauma, relationship difficulties, grief, loss - including redundancy, retirement and adjustment to changes of health.
I offer a free, no obligation, 15 minute telephone consultation before arranging an appointment. I can liaise by email for any queries, if that is preferred.
I can offer short or long-term work.
The duration of each session is 50 minutes.
Training, qualifications & experience
I was trained at Northern Guild for Counselling and Psychotherapy and have a Diploma in Psychotherapeutic Counselling. I have several years of experience working with NHS General Practice.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
