I aim to provide effective, compassionate and flexible therapy for relationship, sexual and emotional difficulties. I have trained in sexual and relationship difficulties, cognitive behavioural therapy and sexual addiction. My aim in therapy is to work with you to help you find a way to make the most of your situation and live a life that has meaning to you.
I am a Psychotherapist registered with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy and Accredited with the College of Sexual and Relationship Therapy (COSRT). I have worked with individuals, couples and families in various settings, and within the NHS I worked as a cognitive behavioural psychotherapist in a specialist service for people experiencing their first episode of psychosis and within a community mental health service. I qualified as a psychotherapist in 1997, completed my Masters in 2001 and became a registered psychotherapist with the United Kingdom Council for Psychotherapy in 2001. I have undertaken further study in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy at the Institute of Psychiatry and a course in Sexual addiction treatment. I am employed in the NHS as a Highly Specialist Psychosexual Therapist as well as working independently in Deal. Most of my work is within a framework of ACT (Acceptance and Commitment Therapy), but I also draw on systemic therapy and some transactional analysis.
I am an experienced supervisor and also facilitate training for other supervisors.
I work to the codes of ethics and standards of COSRT and UKCP.
