About me

I work with individuals on either a short-term or long-term basis and am about a 5 minute walk from Balham station.  I also provide on-line (Zoom) and telephone counselling.

I provide a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space where we can explore your thoughts, feelings and experiences in order to help you move forward.  I integrate a range of theories with a practical, change-oriented approach. The process may, but not always, involve looking at your past, how this impacts on you in the present and to then examine ways of implementing change to help you feel better about yourself.  My approach is pro-active with a focus on clarity, change and forward movement.

Many people I work with often feel overwhelmed by what they are experiencing or they have reached a point where they feel 'stuck' and cannot see a way forward.  By working together, we can make sense of what’s going on for you and explore new ways of being to help you live a more productive, fulfilling life.

I am an accredited member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (www.bacp.co.uk) and adhere to their ethical framework for good practice. I am fully insured and, in line with best practice, my work is regularly supervised.

Appointments are available during the daytime or evenings. Timetabling of sessions is flexible to fit in with your schedule.

I have a successful track record in helping people overcome their difficulties and offer a free  initial consultation.  This will involve an exploration of your issue(s) and will also provide you with a sense of how it might be for us to work together.

I have worked with a number of organisations both pre and post qualifying.  These include Balham Community Counselling Service (generic counselling), the NHS (Bereavement Service) and Victim Support (crime related support).  I also work as a clinical supervisor, providing individual and group supervision.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
