About me

Dear potential client:
If you're here, I'm guessing that something's not right in your world. That you'd like something in your life to change - to be different, to be better or just less hard.
Have you always felt 'different' or worried that something's 'wrong' with you because you're affected by things much more deeply than others? Do you see or make sense of the world in a way that others don't? Struggle to cope with environments that are too busy or too noisy? Often find yourself at odds with others and don't understand why?
Perhaps you're living with a hidden loss, or something that others don't fully understand or can't sympathise with?
Or maybe you're struggling with a particular issue or experiencing difficult feelings?
Any of these challenges can leave you feeling isolated, alone, invisible, misunderstood, overwhelmed, exhausted, disconnected from others or - sometimes the biggest battle - in conflict with yourself.
I'm someone who believes in therapy and the difference it can make. I believe - when you're struggling with something - it can really help to have a place where you can talk freely about what's going on for you. Where you can think about your own needs instead of always putting others first. And where you can be welcomed for who you really are.
Coming for therapy isn’t an easy option – it takes courage, determination, and a willingness to acknowledge what hurts in the search for something better. Your need for therapy right now isn’t all that you are, it doesn’t define you. Likewise, I’m not just a Therapist. I love Art, Music and being outside.

What I offer:
I work using a Person-Centred Approach: When you don’t have to justify or defend what you think and feel, you’re free to say what’s really going on for you, and to choose what you share (or don’t). I won’t judge, direct or delve. But I will work with you to perhaps untangle the threads of your struggle. My therapeutic approach is about giving you time and space where you can say difficult things. And where you can have and explore conflicting emotions. All of this can help clarify what’s going on for you, what matters most and how you want to be or deal with things in future.
I also can enable you to work using creative methods. In western culture we place a high value on rational thinking. This uses the left part of the brain, however we have tended to undervalue the right part of the brain, the part which deals with emotions and inspires creativity. For many people, they live with anxieties and behaviour patterns which they feel they cannot change. This can often affect how secure they feel in the world and their ability to relate well to others.
I can also offer the use of Mindfulness strategies to enable you to connect with and manage how your body is responding to the emotions it is experiencing.
If you are looking for a supervisor I am to work in a collegial manner whilst incorporating an educative approach where needed. Otherwise I am offering myself, my therapeutic approach as above and my experience with clients.
