About me

I am a experienced BACP accredited Counsellor/psychotherapist offering both short and long term counselling /psychotherapy. I use a psychodynamic/Integrative model which enables me to draw from a number of approaches to suit your individual need. I am a trained EMDR therapist which is particularly useful in treating trauma and many other deep rooted issues that sometimes just talking therapy can't process. In addition I am an experienced clinical Supervisor having experience supervising students at the University of Leicester studying on the Masters in psychodynamic Counselling & Psychotherapy.

I am experienced in working with many presenting issues for example;

  • relationship difficulties
  • sexual abuse
  • cultural/ethnicity/gender issues
  • depression
  • trauma
  • bereavement
  • low self esteem
  • anxiety
  • dissasociative identity disorder
  • and stress to name a few.

With the help of a strong therapeutic relationship I believe people are able to gain a better understanding of their current situation. And something from the past that may be playing a part in current feelings.

You may not understand why you feel the way you do but together we can find some clarity. I believe everybody has the ability to change and sometimes we just need to be heard.

I am able to offer a safe confidential space where we can explore together, at your own pace the root of your confusion or distress. I am sensitive to all clients religious and cultural beliefs and believe everyone should be treated equally despite their ethnic, cultural or sexual beliefs or background.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
