About me

Hi, my name is Kelly, a fully qualified Person Centred Counsellor

Although I work with many issues that people face, I have 20+ years of experience in providing trauma-informed support, this alongside personal experience means that I have a particular interest in working with addiction, neurodiversity and parents of neurodiverse children.

There are times in our lives when we feel overwhelmed, lonely, and anxious. The intensity of life, personal battles we face, unexpected circumstances or making sense of the past are just some challenges that can leave us feeling burnt out, uncertain about life or not living the life you wish and disconnected from yourself.

I am committed to offering you a non-judgemental, safe and confidential space that will give you the opportunity to explore issues and challenges affecting your life. I can provide space to breathe, an empathetic listening ear and facilitate an environment to process.

We are all unique and you can be assured that you will receive a warm welcome, just as you are and whatever your situation. Through really being heard, valued and understood, in a therapeutic environment, you can begin to explore and navigate towards positive change, empowerment, and discover solutions and patterns of behaviour.

Whether you have come to counselling to address past trauma you feel is holding you back or current challenges causing negativity in your life, I can guarantee a personalised approach at a pace guided by you to find a way towards growth and positive change. Lasting change is challenging, but I believe that everyone can lead a fulfilling life and my role is to help you find that path. Our work will be a journey. I will listen, really listen to you so that you can express yourself freely, receive gentle challenges, explore an alternative perspective and uncover your strengths and solutions.

I work with a wide range of issues including anxiety, depression, social isolation, grief, anger management, family issues, trauma, stress and burnout.

Sessions are held face-to-face, via telephone or online based on your individual requirements. I offer a free 20-minute initial session so that we can meet to discuss your needs from counselling and gain a little more understanding of each other.

I reserve a set amount of slots at reduced rates, available for certain circumstances. Please feel free to ask about these sessions.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
