About me

How can Counselling help me:  Are you struggling, life events out of your control, anxious, relationship problems, stressed, etc. So many things can upset the balance in our lives and it can feel difficult to know what to do for the best. Sometimes giving the areas some time for exploration and acknowledgement can help create shifts, other times choices that are not initially seen become visible or maybe some long term in depth work is required.

How do I get in touch:  All sound complex, well whatever your unique position is please feel free to get in touch for a free telephone consultation on 07930 273759 to see if working together may be of help.

What would happen next:  If we go ahead, we would usually meet once a week for 50 min sessions on a set day and time each week to ensure consistency, although other options can be discussed.

I am currently working from home and am offering Zoom sessions via a video link and Telephone Counselling.  My contact number is 07930 273759. Should I be busy, please leave a message and I'll call you back asap. Wishing you all the best in what you're looking for.

Who am I and how can I help?

The Offical Part:

  • I am a fully qualified Integrative Counsellor who qualified in 2012.
  • I am a registered member of the BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and work by their code of ethics which includes monthly supervision.
  • I hold public liability and personal indemnity insurance.
  • I am registered with the ICO (Information Commissioner’s Office) for the processing of personal information.

The Human Element:

  • The sessions are yours and all about you.  I will work beside you in each and every session.
  • Between us my hope is that we can create a comfortable, safe, peaceful, non-judgemental space and relationship to allow whatever needs to be explored flow.
  • Being an Integrative Counsellor allows me to work with a wide range of clients and issues, although being mindful that I do have limitations and would signpost or advise a referral if this was the case.
  • I work mainly under a Humanistic umbrella with a Person-Centred base, this allows clients to lead the sessions and holds a belief that we all have our own answers within, but other approaches and challenging can be introduced where appropriate.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Further information

My journey to becoming a Counsellor didn't start off as that was who I wanted to be.  My own experience of Counselling up and to that point when I began training was positive and always helped me to get back on my feet when struggles arose.

I initially started the Introduction and Level 2 of Counselling for self awareness and then I was both hooked and fascinated, I just kept on learning and learning and that is what I still do to this day, especially from my clients.
