About me

Hi, I’m Kelly and I am a person centred counsellor, I specialise in working with young people and adults and a trainee children’s counsellor working with from ages 4 plus.

Choosing to come to therapy and choosing your counsellor can be a difficult step to take but seeking support is the biggest step in the right direction to work through current or past issues at your own pace in a comfortable safe environment, with a good listening ear and no judgement what so ever, I am here to help and support you to develop strategies to improve your life for the better. 

I am a member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists (BACP), a governing body for counsellors, and provide the ethical framework which ensures I work to professional standards.

I offer online, telephone and face to face sessions In Saltaire, If you would like a free 15 minutes consultation to discuss what you want to gain from your counselling journey we can arrange a telephone appointment where you can decide if I am the right counsellor for you. 

Training, qualifications & experience

My Qualifications in Counselling and Mental health work are;

I have almost 16 years of experience working with people with a wide range of mental health issues and complex needs. 

I offer face to face or online/telephone counselling in my private practise based in saltaire, alongside I work in a school providing counselling for children and teachers, which has given me a wealth of experience working with young people and adults try to make sense of their feelings and things they may be going through, this involves working in primary through to upper school.

I have helped support students through a range of issues from self-harm, general school worries, low self confidence, eating disorders, trauma, diagnosis, bullying.

I have also worked in local counselling agencies supporting people though a range of areas which have included autism and ADHD diagnosis, depression, anxiety, family issues, sexual abuse, work stress, friendship breakdowns, relationship issues, bereavement, childhood trauma, LGBQT support and coming to terms with sexual identity, OCD.

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Additional information

I offer a free initial session where we can see if I am the right counsellor for you. This can be face to face or over the telephone whichever you feel comfortable with. 

My face to face work is in a Therapy centre based in Saltaire in Shipley BD18 or I also offer online sessions for clients who prefer this service via video call or telephone call.
