Kelly-Anne Singleton MBACP, Dip Couns. (Reflection Counselling)
I'm Kelly-Anne. I warmly welcome you to Reflection Counselling provided currently through an online or telephone platform, (Zoom) offering you a safe space to talk through any worries or challenges you are facing. I work with Adults and Children, specialising in Anxiety, Autism and Teenage Issues.
My clients describe me as 'easy to talk to, warm, genuine and very approachable' which I believe is the basis of a good therapeutic relationship.
Life can really challenge us and sometimes it can be difficult to make any sense of it.
Sometimes it can help having the chance to reflect, explore and talk to someone where you are completely heard. The space and time is yours. It might feel a bit scary to contact a Counsellor in the first instance and perhaps you think that 'counselling isn't for me', but why not give it a try and see what you think. You may be surprised. Many clients often say it wasn't at all how they had imagined.
How do I work?
I use various therapeutic approaches in order to adapt to you as an individual.
Counselling doesn't have to be simply talking, there can be a variety of ways to express yourself and explore what's happening for you. My aim is for you to feel comfortable and able to express yourself in your own way.
I can carry out single session therapy, a block of sessions or longer term therapy. I also offer online and telephone counselling. I am based in Poole and have flexible hours to suit.
When working online I can talk you through any technical worries you may have before starting and will help you set this up.
We would usually meet first for an initial consultation where I can explain how I work and answer any questions you may have. You can then decide whether you are happy to work with me and whether I am suitable to work with you.
Children and Young people
I specialise in Counselling Children and Young People 11-18. Having worked with children for 25 years in Teaching, running a Drama School for children with disabilities and in my Counselling work, I have plenty of experience and skills in this area. I also specialise in Autism, having raised my own child with autism and many years working in this area. I also run a Home Tutoring Business ( kelly-Anne-Home Tutoring) teaching children all over Dorset.
I use: art, role play, sand tray work, Visual boards, Bullet Journals, music, drama based therapy, games, mindfulness and meditation. I adapt to what works well with your child as my main priority is that they feel comfortable and can be themselves.
I currently am delivering the sessions with children online until it's safe to return to face to face working.

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
