About me

Hello there 😊 do you feel low and overwhelmed and need somebody to talk to? I am an experienced counsellor, trained to Masters level, who is consistently praised for my warmth and ability to offer a safe, confidential, non-judgmental, warm and welcoming space. I offer a free 30 minute phone consultation call so you can have a chat first to see if we are a good fit.

I understand it can be daunting beginning counselling, but I will be here to guide you through the process and make you feel more at ease. I can offer short-term or long term counselling, depending on what you would like. Usually, sessions take place weekly, but this can be altered to suit what you need. Rest assured I will accept you and work at your pace. I have a Masters degree in person-centered Psychotherapy. Person-centered means that I will not judge you or give you advice, I will simply provide a safe, warm space through which you can work through your innermost thoughts and feelings and move forward.

I have a wide range of experience working in mental health and wellbeing organizations, the NHS, schools and charities.  I am currently employed by a Psychotherapy centre as well as working in my own private practice alongside this.  I work with a wide range of clients from women, men, children and teenagers. I am happy and comfortable working with a range of issues including, but not limited to: anxiety, depression, trauma, family issues, bereavement and domestic abuse.

(I am also trained in using creative approaches in counselling sessions too, which means that we can use drawing/painting/music etc in our sessions if you wish. Please note, this is not about producing perfect artwork, it’s simply about you expressing how you feel by using simple doodles/splashes of paint/quick free-hand drawing. Some people find this a really useful way to express themselves when they find it difficult to talk about difficult experiences.  But if that's not for you, don't worry, we can just stick to talking therapy.)

Before becoming a Psychotherapist, I was a British trained primary school teacher. My passion and desire to support young people and their parents’ mental health, led me to being promoted to the role of ‘Head of Wellbeing’ in a school with thousands of students. The love I had for this role fuelled my desire to work deeper in mental health, which is why I have worked in this field for many years now. I am a fully registered member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP) which means that I  meet high standards of proficiency, professionalism and ethical practice.

I currently have limited spaces for counselling sessions online for adults, teenagers and children.

Please feel free to get in touch today to start the ball rolling.

I look forward to hearing from you,

Kellie 😊

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
