Are You Suffering From Stress, Anxiety and/or Depression?
I Can Help You Manage Better
My name is Keith Fernandes and I can help you reduce your stress levels. Please read on for some general information, but also click on my website link to find out more about stress, anxiety and depression.
I’m a counsellor working in private practice in Leeds city centre. I provide a calm and secure environment in which you can safely explore the difficulties you are experiencing. Working together on agreed goals we will build a strong working relationship which will provide the vehicle through which we can affect positive change. Through exploring the difficulties you are facing, you will gain a greater self understanding which in turn will give you greater autonomy and help empower you to make the positive changes in your life.
I can help with a range of issues but have a special interest in stress, anxiety & depression.
A little about my background; I have travelled to various countries and have spent time living abroad. This experience has helped me to relate to people from different backgrounds and cultures. Through counselling I overcame some of my own difficulties and several years later felt I had found a career I was passionate about. Counselling has helped me so much and still continues to do so. I’m now lucky enough to be in a position where I can help people reach their potential and live happier lives. Many people have commented on how calm and grounded I am. Hopefully these qualities will ensure you feel relaxed and at ease in our sessions together.
How do I choose the right counsellor?
It can be difficult choosing a counsellor as you can’t be sure if you’ll get along with him or her just by reading a profile. I understand this, as I had the same problem when searching for my own counsellor. For this reason, I offer a free 30min initial meeting where we can discuss what you want to achieve in counselling and get a feeling whether we can work together towards this goal.
To get in touch, either call/text me on the mobile number above or click the 'email me' link. If I can't answer the phone please leave me a message and let me know the following details and I will call you back:
- your name
- your contact details
- and the best time to contact you
I will aim to return your call/text/email within 48 hours. I look forward to hearing from you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a member of the British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy (BACP) and work within their Ethical Framework. I practice using the relational model which focuses on the common factor across most if not all therapeutic approaches; the relationship between the counsellor and client being the vehicle for change to occur. By providing a safe, confidential and non-judgmental space and by working collaboratively, I aim to build a strong therapeutic relationship. Working relationally I can then employ whichever approach best suits my client such as Person-Centred, Gestalt or Transactional Analysis.
