Psychosexual (Sex) Therapy / Relationship Therapy

If unresolved these issues can have a significant impact on individual, sexual, emotional and relationship functioning and well being.

I work integratively with a view that sexual difficulties can have physical, psychological and emotional impacts.

Getting Started:
STEP 1 ; Call or email to make your initial appointment.
STEP 2; Initial appointment to see what counselling entails.
STEP 3; Make further appointments, either weekly or fortnightly.

People may seek psychosexual therapy for a wide range of issues including:

  • Issues with sexual intimacy
  • Difficulties with orgasm
  • Sexual diversity
  • Male erection problems (erectile dysfunction)
  • Orgasming too quickly (premature ejaculation)
  • Sexual Trauma
  • Sexual Abuse
  • Loss of sexual desire and arousal difficulties
  • Menopause
  • Sexual phobias
  • Dyspareunia (pain during sex)
  • Vaginismus (difficulty or inability to have penetrative sex)
  • Addictions

You may wish to seek support for solely relationship difficulties without the presence of psychosexual issues and I welcome you on this journey.

Relationship therapy can help provide support with helping to foster enhanced communication between couples, increasing awareness and understanding dynamics.

People may seek relationship therapy when experiencing difficulties around:

    • Trust, betrayal

    • Stress, frustration, anger

Individual Therapy

I understand that life can be difficult and isolating at times. Individuals can struggle with different issues throughout their lives and we feel that the therapeutic space within counselling can be extremely valuable.

I will provide an environment for you to have the chance to work through personal issues, helping you gain greater awareness and insight and move towards a more integrated and connected self.

I may work with you to help you uncover patterns in your life that may be affecting your emotional and psychological growth.

Adolescents Therapy Adolescence can be a time of huge change and challenge. We understand and respect that this can be a tumultuous time for both adolescents and their families.

Adolescents may require one to one support for help with varying issues which may include difficulties with:

  • Stress and anxiety
  • Poor body image
  • Eating issues
  • Low self esteem

I provide a safe, therapeutic environment for your child to express and work through their emotions and challenges. We work collaboratively and will liaise with other professionals if this is needed. I work in a holistic way and focus on the best interests of your child at all times.

Whilst respecting confidentiality, I will endeavour to keep the parent/guardian informed of the progress of therapy and encourage parental involvement if necessary.

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
