About me

**CORONAVIRUS UPDATE 19.7.2020**

I am now able to see a limited number of clients face to face again in my office whilst following the all government guidelines safely.  I am still offering online and phone therapy to new and existing clients during this time that do not want to attend face to face appointments.

----------------------------------------------------------

If nothing changes, how will you feel a year from now?
You may have an idea where you want to go, or you might just know you want things to be different, and are unsure how.

Therapy can help you work out the direction you want to go, and how to start heading there.

My passion is helping people go from feeling stuck, stressed, overwhelmed, depressed, traumatised or anxious to feeling happier, coping better, becoming healthier and living the life they want.

What could this mean to you?

Less anxiety, stress or low moods, improved relationships with yourself and others, perhaps more self-esteem and confidence, better sleep and a healthier mindset or maybe it’s about putting the past behind you once and for all.

I help people work out the direction they want to go, and how to start heading there.

I truly believe your therapy should be tailored especially around you.

No ticky boxes or one size fits all here! I truly believe your mental health and wellbeing is a priority.

I am a Pluralistic Counsellor - this means I am able to cater for your very unique and individual needs.  I have trained in many different types of therapies, all of which can be adapted to suit you and what you need from therapy right now.

Who I see:

I work one-to-one with all adults and older adults for both long and short term work, according to individual need.

Location:

Our therapy sessions take place in a private and confidential office space.

The Innovation Centre, Kirkleatham Business Park, Redcar, TS10 5SH

Parking is free outside my premises.  There are toilet facilities for your convenience.  Feel free to bring your own hot/cold drink if you prefer, water is always provided.

I also offer Online therapy using Zoom (like Skype but 100% secure).

Member organisations

BACP

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Wheelchair-accessible premises should have step-free access for wheelchair users and individuals who are unable to climb stairs. If a counsellor's premises aren't step-free, they may offer alternative services such as telephone/web-based appointments, home visits, or meeting clients in different location, so you can choose the option that suits you best.

You can contact the counsellor to discuss the options available.

Under the Equality Act 2010 service providers have a duty to make reasonable adjustments to ensure that individuals with disabilities can access their service. You can read more about reasonable adjustments to help you to access services on the CAB website.
