Kay Tarry MBACP(Reg) FdA(Merit)Counselling
I can provide a warm, safe, private space to allow deep exploration of what is troubling you, at your own pace.
I am a Pluralistic Counsellor - this means I use a variety of methods, models and theories to suit each clients very unique and individual needs. This encompasses Person Centered, Creative, Narrative, Solution Focused, TA and CBT therapy models into our therapy sessions.
Offering both short-term Counselling (agreed, fixed amount of sessions) and longer term Psychotherapy (no fixed ending, no limit to sessions) to suit your individual needs. This can be discussed prior to booking your first session with me.
I offer a FREE informal chat which normally lasts around 30 minutes, where we can meet face to face somewhere locally like a coffee shop. This meeting can be used to ask questions about how I work, look at goals for therapy and can also be used to see if I am the right therapist for you and whether we can work together. You can then book to start your therapy sessions with me the following week or carry on your search for the right therapist for you.
I am happy to include ideas for 'homework' for those who wish to work on personal growth and development outside each therapy session.
I currently volunteer as a Counsellor for a charity in Middlesbrough, specialising in Rape, Sexual Violence and Childhood Sexual Abuse, working with survivors since May 2016. I also worked as a full-time Counsellor for an NHS IAPT service until very recently.
