I am an experienced counsellor with a established private counselling practice.
I have a professional interest in working with issues around anxiety, anger, abuse depression, domestic violence, self-esteem, loss, betrayal, Drug and Alcohol issues, relationships, separation, careers, personal development and work related stress.
I believe that we can find ourselves in difficult situations where, life can become difficult, or hard to face alone. I provide humanistic counselling from a person-centred theoretical basis, and draw upon other approaches to meet individual client's needs. I focus on providing a trusting and supportive environment with clients where they feel safe to explore themselves. I aim to empower and accept clients. I work collaboratively with my clients and help them to understand their own truth and meaning; I am not an expert in their life but instead facilitate their process whilst honouring their inner wisdom. My belief, is that each of us has the ability to create a meaningful fulfilling life, irrespective of our circumstances.
As well as private practice I currently work with children, young people, vulnerable adults teenage Mothers, and adults who have self harmed as a way of coping. The variety of life-experiences and problems such clients have brought to our sessions has enabled me to work with a wide range of issues, with clients from diverse backgrounds presenting with both short-term challenges, through to deep-rooted issues requiring long-term work.
I am a member of the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP)
