About me

Life can often be complex and difficult.  Our experiences, thoughts and feelings can overwhelm us so we often encounter different struggles. Each person's journey is unique, yet we all share a common bond in facing adversity. Struggles come in various forms—they can be internal battles, external obstacles, or a combination of both.

Emotionally, we can wrestle with feelings of anxiety, depression, grief, and self-doubt. We may find ourselves entangled in the complexities of relationships, navigating through conflicts, loss, bereavement, or loneliness. Externally, we have to face societal pressures, career challenges, financial hardships, or health issues that test our resilience and shake our foundations.

In the midst of these struggles, it's easy to feel overwhelmed, lost, or uncertain about our path forward. But it's important to remember that struggles are not an indication of weakness; they are opportunities for growth where we can explore the depths of our inner selves, face our fears, and discover untapped reserves of new awareness and insight.

I have been a practicing counsellor since 2006 and I am lucky enough to have gathered a wealth of knowledge, skills and experience to offer my clients. I attend monthly supervision in accordance with the requirements of the ethical framework.

Successful counselling requires a good working alliance with the client, where trust can be built upon to encourage a client to share experiences without fear of judgement.

I offer a safe, professional and confidential service for clients and adhere to the Code of Ethics of The National Counselling and Psychotherapy Society (NCPS)

My training was in Humanistic counselling which has at its core a belief that everyone has the potential to grow, given the right conditions. Part of my counselling is about providing some of those conditions. I work as an integrative counsellor, having also worked alongside integrative models of counselling. I hold current Professional Indemnity Insurance.

Humanistic counselling encompasses theories such as Person Centred, Gestalt, Psychosynthesis and Transactional Analysis (TA). I also use Rational Emotive Behavioural Therapy (REBT)  since attending an Albert Ellis workshop in 2002 in Manhattan at the Albert Ellis Institute.
