Kay King Ad.dip PC MNCS
7A Church Road
I'm Kay an integrative psychotherapist with a choice of two locations across reading and Caversham and flexible appointment times.
I use a a range of models and approaches to suit individual needs of a person.
I have an advanced diploma in psychotherapeutic counselling along with a level three hypnotherapy qualification. I am an accredited member of The National Counselling society and working towards my membership with the BACP.
I Did a short spell of work for time to talk in reading before it got taken over by No.5. I have now been accepted to volunteer with them as I am very interested in working with adolescents. Along side this I am completing a diploma with the institute of arts therapy to complement my working with young people. I have been working with children for over 10 years and have two of my own. Along with professional experience my personal experiences have brought me to be passionate about young people and the life struggles they face. I have extensive experience in working with autism and other special needs, another area I am passionate about.
Through my years of training I have become rather humanistic but still integrate CBT and psychodynamic approaches.
I enjoy helping clients whether they're young or adults to feel like they do matter, and that whatever ever they are feeling is relevant and important. I have had the joy of my own therapist during training making me feel this way.
In accordance with wanting to raise mental health awareness I also enjoy writing as a part of my career. Below is a link to a website i have the pleasure of writing for, it is specifically for those going through divorce, and children involved in divorce issues. The link below takes you straight to my latest article.
My two offices are slightly different; one is in my home and the other is in the center of Caversham. They both offer parking close by. I look forward to hearing from anyone who feels that I am the right therapist for them.
