About me

Why counselling?

I work face-to-face and have an office in Southend, as well as online.

I am an accredited counsellor, experienced registered member of counsellors and psychotherapists (PNCPS) and adhere to ethical guidelines and framework.

Working with clients with a variety of different issues such as relationships, addictions, eating disorders, domestic abuse, depression, anxiety, work-related stress, building confidence, self-esteem, loss and bereavement. I celebrate being able to help the people I work with to make a very real difference to their lives.

I focus on bringing change, hope, direction, acceptance, purpose and fulfilment into your life. You choose your own goals then we collaborate to achieve them! During difficult times, I can support you to find your own inner resources to cope and to deal effectively with your situation, building up your natural tenacity in order to gain a healthy perspective on life's obstacles.

I use integrative methods, which means I use a range of different approaches. In simple terms, I take an individualistic approach to use the theories that best suit my client’s individual needs.

I offer a free telephone consultation. This is an informal discussion to evaluate how I may help you and also for you to evaluate my service - there is no obligation to continue.

I specialise in relationships, all addictions; eating disorders, domestic abuse, depression, anxiety, work-related stress, building confidence, self-esteem, loss and bereavement.

I have experience working in the voluntary sector for a bereavement service, substance misuse services, and a domestic violence service, as well as private practice.

Among the types of counselling approaches I am trained to use are:- CBT, Gestalt, Transactional Analysis and Inner Child, Relational Intersubjective, Intrapersonal Skills, Psycho dynamic, Person Centred and Existential.
