About me

I offer a safe, non-judgmental and fully confidential environment where you can explore the issues that may be troubling you or holding you back. My approach is integrative and flexible so that I can be responsive to the needs of each individual, so your own unique way of being with yourself and with others can unfold and be met respectfully.

Since the therapeutic relationship is at the heart of the therapy, the first session offers an opportunity to get to know a each other a little in order to decide whether you feel comfortable working together. There is no obligation to continue at this point.

The therapy is your time, to do what you wish; a chance to tell your story and be heard, to explore and discover. Therapy is a journey – not always a smooth one, and not always an easy one, but one which will hopefully lead you to a place where you are more fully engaged in your own life, with a growing awareness of what you need, what you want, and what you feel.

Training, qualifications & experience

I am a member of IATE and BACP (British Association for Counselling and Psychotherapy) and abide by their Code of Ethics and Code of Practice.

I am an Integrative Arts Psychotherapist with the following qualifications:

  • MA in Integrative Arts Psychotherapy with Adults at The Institute for Arts in Therapy and Education. (Passed with Distinction)
  • Diploma in Therapeutic Counselling with Adolescents, IATE.
  • Certificate in Adolescent Therapeutic Counselling, IATE.
  • Diploma in The Therapeutic and Educational Application of the Arts, IATE
  • Certificate in Counselling Skills (person centred approach), City Lit

I work for charities and in private practice with both young people and adults and work with people from many different cultures and backgrounds and with a broad range of issues.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
