About me

Hello, and welcome. When you are facing challenges in life and looking for support to help you overcome them, figuring out what you need and who can help can be a confusing, daunting process. By searching Counselling Directory today, you have taken the first step!

Whatever difficulties you are facing at the moment, having someone to listen empathically and help you understand your problems can make things feel more manageable. As a therapist, I provide a confidential, non-judgemental space for you to explore these difficulties, and to work with you in a collaborative way.

Every person is different, which means every treatment will be different too. I provide a range of psychological therapies that will be tailored to meet your needs. These include Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Compassion-Focused Therapy,  as well as Acceptance and Commitment Therapy and other Mindfulness-based approaches.  I am an EMDR Practitioner and can provide Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing therapy both in-person and online.

I work with people of all ages and backgrounds. Difficulties I work with include (but are not limited to): depression, anxiety, stress (including work, academic, or general life stress), loss and bereavement, panic, OCD, anger, trauma, life changes (e.g. birth, retirement, relationship ending), sexual difficulties, disordered eating, health anxiety, low self-esteem, relationship difficulties, and desire for personal development.

I can offer sessions in person or online.

In addition to therapeutic work, I can also provide supervision for practitioners and trainees.

Training, qualifications & experience

I hold the following qualifications:

  • MA (Hons) 1st Class in Psychology
  • PhD in Psychology
  • Doctorate in Clinical Psychology

I am a Clinical Psychologist accredited and regulated by the Health Care Professions Council (HCPC), which means I have undertaken extensive training in providing evidence-based psychological therapies to people of all ages and backgrounds.

They keep a register of health professionals who meet their standards, and they take action if registered health professionals fall below those standards. They were created by a piece of legislation called the Health Professions Order 2001.

Registration means that a health professional meets national standards for their professional training, performance and conduct.

Additional information

Therapy sessions are charged at £105 per 55 minute session.  Often prospective clients have a budget for a certain number of sessions, and I would always aim to help them achieve realistic goals within that timeframe.  Therapy is a significant investment, and I can appreciate these fees may be higher than you are looking to pay at the moment.  If you are considering a more self-directed approach with appropriate guidance, you may prefer to use some of the other advice services we at LINKAT Psychology provide - please see www.linkatpsychology.co.uk for more information.

I offer a discounted rate for Counselling and Clinical Psychology Trainees who are required to undertake therapy as part of their training.  If this applies to you, please get in touch.

You can contact the Counsellor to discuss the options available.
