About me

I am an experienced Integrative Psychotherapeutic Counsellor, I draw on a number of theories (including Psychodynamic, Humanistic and Developmental) in order to work in a way that suits you and the issues you bring. I have understanding and experience working with a wide range of difficulties and have a special interest in Anxiety, Stress, Bereavement, Loss and Depression. I offer sessions both online and face to face in Bishop's Stortford.

How can I help?

I understand that it can be difficult taking the step to come to counselling if you are struggling in some way. You may be feeling low, anxious or overwhelmed and need support outside of your family and friends. Perhaps you're feeling distressed trying to cope with difficult thoughts and feelings, or struggling in relationships (professional and/or personal). I understand how difficult it can be to feel stuck in whatever distress you may be feeling. I aim to offer you a safe, supportive and non-judgmental space where you can explore these feelings. I believe this can help to build a greater understanding and acceptance of yourself and through this discover opportunities for change and growth.

Take the next step..

Please give me a call on 07502603193 or send an email via the link if you would like to discuss your needs further without any obligation. If you would like to consider counselling with me, we can then arrange an initial assessment session.

The initial assessment is an opportunity for us to discuss your concerns, and your hopes for therapy. It is also a chance for you to see if you feel comfortable with me and the way I work and explore whether further sessions would be helpful.

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
