About me

I am an established counsellor with 8 years' experience of working for a highly respected local counselling charity. I offer a relaxed, confidential, non-judgmental environment in which difficult thoughts, feelings and life experiences can be thought about and talked about safely and carefully. I aim to put my clients at their ease, and to tailor the way I work to each individual person. I am aware that coming to counselling is a big step for many people to take, and it is important that you find a counsellor you feel you can relate to and work with. In my experience, most people benefit from the opportunity to talk over their problems with someone who is not involved but is on their side, who is committed to listening carefully and trying to help them to find a way through their difficulties. For some people this experience is truly life-changing.

Training, qualifications & experience

  • MA (Modern & Medieval Languages (French and German), Cambridge University, 1976)
  • Certificate of Higher Education in Counselling, University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education, 2005
  • Advanced Diploma in Counselling, University of Cambridge Institute of Continuing Education, 2007

I gained my accreditation with BACP in 2012, so I am now MBACP (Accred)
From 2007 until 2015 I worked for The Cogwheel Trust, an independent counselling charity based in Cambridge. During my time with Cogwheel I saw clients at their offices in Cambridge, at Sawston and Soham medical centres, and at Ely Library, and worked with hundreds of different people from a wide variety of backgrounds.
