About me

Hello, I am Katrina and firstly I would like to tell you a bit about me, as it is important for you to know who you may be talking to and whether you can relate to them.  I was employed by the Ambulance service for 10 years and saw that there was a lack of services provided for people who needed to talk or experience a talking therapy, it was this that enlightened me to train as a counsellor.

As a fully qualified counsellor and psychotherapist based in the heart of Blackpool is rewarding in its own right.  Blackpool is my home town, and being able to offer something back to the people of Blackpool is humbling.

I offer person-centred therapy to adults, young people and children, in a warm safe, non-judgemental space.  Where the therapy is designed to work around the client, to explore their issues and feelings, to be heard, improving self-esteem and self-awareness.  Bringing new hope to life.

I understand and that it may be difficult for some people to leave their home due to a wide variety of reasons, please do not let this put you off contacting me, we maybe able to come up with a suitable arrangement.

Working as a counsellor in both primary and secondary schools with children and young people, I use both talking therapies and therapy through play and drawing.  Covering many topics including, but not exclusive to;

  • Eating disorders
  • Abuse
  • ADHD
  • Anxiety
  • Parents separation
  • Bereavement
  • Anger Issues

Previous places I have counselled are hospices and doctor surgeries, covering a variety of topics, including;

  • Bereavement
  • Terminal/chronic illnesses
  • Abuse
  • Sexual abuse
  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Loneliness
  • Sexuality
  • Phobias
  • Relationship issues
  • Low self-esteem
  • Panic Disorder

Being a member of the BACP (the British Association of Counselling and Psychotherapy) is something I take seriously. It ensures that I adhere to guidelines that help protect my clients welfare, confidentiality, and seek regular supervision. I am fully DBS checked, which is updated regularly through the movement DBS update service online.

If this feels that this is right for you, or you would like further information on the services I can provide, I invite you to contact me for further details.
