About me
I am a qualified, experienced Cognitive Behavioural Psychotherapist and a registered member of the British Association for counselling and Psychotherapy (MBACP - 00982997). I offer a safe, supportive and confidential space for us to explore the difficulties you are facing, working together to help you feel better and build helpful coping strategies.
How therapy works
The main benefit of therapy is having a safe space in which to talk through what is troubling you – a place where you feel heard and listened to. A key part of your journey to feeling better is to talk these through and work with your therapist to learn strategies, which will help you to overcome these and equip you with better strategies to face difficulties in the future.
Having a safe space where your therapist will listen without judgement to what you are going through is the first step, things become easier to manage when you have space to talk through these and are able to see them more clearly.
I will help you explore what is happening in the here and now and may use the past and early experiences to help make sense of repeated patterns and unhelpful behaviours.
All sessions will be online via Microsoft Teams or telephone. If you have any questions regarding this, please feel free to email me here.

Member organisations
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Getting Started with Therapy
Knowing how to get started with therapy can seem overwhelming. For more information about sessions please email me here I am happy to answer any questions you may have about what to expect and hopefully put you at ease about engaging in therapy and the many benefits of having a safe space to talk and be listened to.
What to expect
The first session allows us the space to meet each other, find out a bit more about what has been troubling you and agree the best way to help support you on your journey to feeling better. Establishing a relationship in which you feel comfortable, respected and heard are central and our sessions offer a safe space to explore the best way forward to help you feel better while learning to manage the difficulties in your life.
