About me
Hello and welcome. My name is Kat and I am a BACP registered qualified counsellor offering one to one sessions face to face or via telephone and zoom. I am a warm and approachable counsellor providing a non-judgemental, safe and friendly space where you can explore your innermost thoughts without judgement or expectation from me.
My approach is person centred, allowing you the autonomy to explore what is important to you, finding your own solutions, which likely already lie within. It is my experience that a person-centred approach to therapy generally helps to increase your own self-awareness, giving you a greater understanding of your responses to what life throws at you. This may also bring clarity to relationships and patterns of relating, this often results in improved confidence, self acceptance and compassion, making it easier for you to cope with life and its challenges, creating a greater sense of well being.
Studies have shown that the therapeutic relationship is a key factor to successful therapy and it is important that you find the right fit for you with a therapist that you feel comfortable and at ease with. I am happy to offer a free 20 minute phone session with you initially to assess if we feel we can work together.
Please feel free to get in touch for an informal chat to see if this could be a helpful process for you.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have previously worked as a placement counsellor for MMK Mind, supporting adult clients with a variety of issues along with Tenterden Counselling Service, a charity working with adults. I currently work within my own private practice and as a school counsellor within a primary school setting.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
