About me

I am a Chartered Clinical Psychologist with over 10 years of experience working with adults with a range of psychological difficulties. Many people experience difficult times in life and can feel stuck in negative cycles of low mood, anxiety and stress. Psychological therapy provides a safe, supportive place to help you explore your current difficulties honestly and openly, and collaboratively we will work to find a positive way forward. My main therapeutic approaches are cognitive-behavioural therapy (CBT) and third-wave approaches, such as Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Mindfulness Based Cognitive Therapy (MBCT) and Motivational Interviewing (MI). These approaches have been shown to be effective for common difficulties such as anxiety and depression, as well as adjustment to a physical health problem. These therapies are relatively short-term interventions, usually between 6-12 sessions, although the exact number of sessions is tailored according to individual need.

I have worked within the NHS for over 10 years, across a range of adult mental health and physical health settings. Currently, I work part-time in the NHS with people who are experiencing psychological distress in relation to their physical health problem.
