About me

Hi my name is Kathryn. I offer Psychodynamic therapy and counselling in person and online.

i offer play therapy to children with a child centred approach.

The therapy sessions are designed to provide you with a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your thoughts, feelings, and behaviours without fear of judgment.

In our initial sessions, we will focus on building a trusting therapeutic relationship, which is essential for effective therapy. You'll have the opportunity to discuss your reasons for seeking help, and together, we will identify your goals for therapy.

Each session is personalised and may include various therapeutic approaches tailored to meet your unique needs. Whether you are grappling with anxiety, depression, relationship issues, trauma or life transitions, we will work together to develop coping strategies, enhance your self-awareness, and empower you to make positive changes.

Throughout the therapeutic process, you can expect open communication, active listening, and collaboration. It may involve exploring challenging emotions and experiences, but it is also a path toward growth, resilience, and self-compassion. I am here to support you every step of the way.

We all have an ‘unconscious’ which can sometimes drive our feelings and behaviours. This therapy can help us understand the unconscious and therefore have more control over our behaviours.

This form of therapy is open-ended, meaning there is no limit on sessions; however, we will review how you are doing as we go to ensure you are getting the help that you want from therapy.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
