About me

×please note I am currently only taking on telephone or online Zoom counselling sessions ×

Hello, I'm Kathryn and I am a qualified counsellor. I am passionate about helping others in moving forward when times are tough. Looking into finding a suitable counsellor can be a daunting prospect. The fact you are looking shows you may need some support in your life. Counselling allows you to talk through your issues in a safe and confidential space.

I have my own private practice called 'Sense Counselling Manchester'. I provide a secure, calming environment to help you communicate what is troubling you. My role is to listen and assist you in finding your own way to a more fulfilled and positive life. I do not offer advice or opinion; simply help you find your own way to a brighter future.

I mainly work in a Person Centred manner however can incorporate other forms of counselling, such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy or Transactional Analysis into the therapy work. My particular interests are working with clients on anxiety, depression and domestic violence. I have worked with clients on a broad range of issues varying from bereavement to suicidal tendencies.

If you would like to meet with me the first step is to book in for an initial assessment. This can be helpful for you to see how I work and see if you feel comfortable working with me. I understand that beginning counselling can often be overwhelming so it is important to find the right counsellor for you. You are under no obligation to continue working with me after the initial assessment.

Please contact me if you have any further questions.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
