Kathryn Harriss Adv Dip, Registered MBACP
I offer counselling & psychotherapy to children, adolescents and adults. Sometimes, we all need a little support from speaking to someone whom we don't know but is experienced in listening helpfully. My consulting room is fully equipped for working with young children as well as older clients. Parents are welcome to contact me to discuss how I might work with them and their children.
At my private practice in Horsham I can work with you calmly and without judgement to explore the roots of your problems to find a new way ahead. I named my business By The Way Counselling because often, a situation described incidentally as 'by the way' might be one we think is not in our power to change or even think about. However, through deeper exploration troubling thoughts can become less powerful and enable us to can move along so that we are on our way, not standing by it, helpless.
I can usually offer appointments outside of normal working hours.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a counsellor and therapist for adults, adolescents and children. My experience reaches from working with first school children, right up to sixth form and beyond into adulthood. I have an Advanced Diploma in Integrative Counselling & Therapy as well as a Diploma in Counselling Children & Adolescents. My training and experience have given me an appreciation of the different aspects of how we might feel at each developmental stage but also to recognise that we might stumble anywhere along the way. And that's OK.
My integrative model of working is a fusion of a humanistic and psychodynamic approaches, as well as solution focussed work. Ultimately, I am able to adapt and tailor the way I work according to your needs.
As a Registered Member of the BACP, I work to their Ethical Framework and of course, I am fully insured and hold an Enhanced DBS Certificate.
