About me

I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor working in Stanlaw Abbey Business Centre close to Cheshire Oaks. I work in a Person Centred, holistic way to help you with the issues or stumbling blocks that are stopping you from living the way you want.

Our work together will help bring about the changes you are looking for. Together we will aim to understand you. I will tailor the way we work to fit your needs. I will use a range of theories, models and frameworks that suit you.

I love working with people to help them understand themselves, feel more fulfilled and less “stuck”. I draw upon a range of methods and psychological techniques like Solution Focused therapy, CBT and Motivational Interviewing. Along with this I can work in a psychodynamic way if I felt that would benefit you. I love helping and supporting people navigate what life brings. I can help with anxiety, depression, bereavement, stress, relationship difficulties, neurodivergence, as well as a range of mental health problems.

About me

Having worked in the NHS in a range of settings such as CAMHS and Adult Mental Health Services I have worked with people affected by adverse childhood experiences and the lasting impacts that have on them, therefore I practice in a trauma informed way. I have counselled people referred by their GP, have worked in a range of healthcare settings and have provided online and phone work. Sometimes people prefer the anonymity of phones.

I have an understanding of neurodevelopmental and mental health conditions. My friends, colleagues and clients describe me as a compassionate, keen listener with a way of creating a space that is free from judgement where you will feel safe and valued.I am told I have a sense of humour.

What I offer

I offer a free 15- 20 minute consultation to see if the way I work suits your needs and aims.

The following sessions will be for 50 minutes at £50 per session although I can be flexible when needed. I work in a fully accessible space with parking and privacy. I offer a bespoke service tailored to support you and your needs. Sometimes, and no one is at fault, people may just not “click” so there is never any pressure to carry on working past the initial consultation.

In Development

I am currently training to become an Open Dialogue facilitator which will support my practice with family, friends and the wider network.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
