I'm a HCPC registered Practitioner Psychologist and Chartered Counselling Psychologist with the British Psychological Society (BPS). I offer specialist psychological therapy in a safe, empathic space, grounded in established humanistic models of therapy. I draw on a wide range of research based psychological therapies, working integratively and collaboratively with you within a cognitive analytic framework to offer individually tailored therapy focusing on your individual needs or goals for therapy.
I am trained in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, person centred counselling, dialectical behaviour therapy (DBT) skills, including emotional regulation, distress tolerance and Mindfulness and I'm currently working towards accreditation in cognitive analytic therapy (CAT).
I have a host of experience in adult mental health, depression and anxiety and have an established history of working with more complex treatment- resistant difficulties including personality issues, emotional dysregulation and loss adjustment. I work primarily with adults and couples but also offer services for children and young people and families, students and colleagues.
My private practice was established in 2012 and I offer a wide range of services, including home visits and both daytime and evening appointments and flexible ways of working.

Specialist Areas of Work
I have a specialist interest in perinatal and maternal mental health including pre and post natal depression and anxiety, birth phobia, adjustment issues, attachment, separation anxieties and parenting support for both women and men. The period covers broadly refers to conception and pregnancy to 12- months post birth, but difficulties can be present much longer than this and seeking support at any time can be helpful. Expectations of how this life- changing period 'should' be and how you 'should' feel in addition to the demands of a new baby and the endless stream of 'advice' from those around you, can prove difficult to navigate and can lead to feeling fraught, frustrated and as though you're failing. Recognising that you need emotional support is a brave step. Therapy can help you to take time out for yourself, to acknowledge difficulties and to find your inner strength to move forward in a healthy and adaptive way. Perinatal mental health care is offered at a reduced fee of £45 per session and appointments are always available.
I have significant experience working with addictions, including alcohol and substance misuse and gambling. My approach focuses on addressing underlying issues, working through any trauma and developing alternative, more helpful ways of coping with emotions.
Similarly I offer specialist services to address anxieties and compulsions including treatment for Obsessive Compulsive Disorder (OCD), Body Dysmorphic Disorder (BDD), compulsive hoarding and eating disorders. I adopt an integrative approach combining psychodynamic methods with cognitive and behavioural techniques, to identify early patterns of relating to self and others and to understand the origins of beliefs and associations about the self. A healthy relationship with yourself, acceptance of our strengths and weaknesses drive good and healthy self-care and naturally reduce the need to rely on unhelpful ways of coping.
