About me

Hello, my name is Katherine and I run Brighter Days Counselling.

You may be struggling with certain feelings, thoughts or issues from either your past or in the present day; or you may feel stuck and not know how to change things?

As a person centred counsellor I believe that everyone has within them the ability to reach their full potential and scope to facilitate positive change in their lives. Counselling can enable people to share and explore the difficulties they are facing in order to lighten the load and possibly see things from a different perspective.

I offer a warm, accepting and understanding safe space for you to talk about things that are bothering you. By sharing and exploring your thoughts and feelings it can make you feel like you are not alone. It can give you more self- awareness and knowledge both about yourself and your problems as well as developing a range of coping strategies. This new clarity often means you feel empowered and are able to recognise the choices you have, facilitating positive change, enabling you to take more control of your life.

As your counsellor I will listen to you and understand your feelings and problems. I will accept you and see things from your point of view. We will work collaboratively to explore your issues, working at a pace that feels comfortable for you. We can do this by talking or we can draw upon other techniques, such as working creatively, to aid your journey.

As part of my practice I also offer clinical supervision to both qualified and student counsellors.
