Hello. I am an Emotional Therapeutic Counsellor, a form of therapy that helps people navigate their where through difficult times using creative and interactive techniques. I believe that our emotional wellbeing holds the key to a contented and fulfilling life. Emotional Therapeutic Counselling positively changes the way in which we perceive ourselves, others and the world.
Katharine is a qualified counsellor with the Foundation of Emotional Therapeutic Counselling, accredited by the National Counselling Society.
There are times in life when we feel we can’t cope, feel stuck, unable to move forward, anxious, stressed, unhappy or generally unwell. At these stages in life we can experience anxiety, relationship issues, depression, panic and feel sad and depressed.
I can support you to deal with your difficulties and manage whatever life throws at you, and how to do it with resilience and authenticity. I believe that everyone has the strength not just to survive, but to truly thrive.
I am a certified and practising member of the Foundation for Emotional Therapeutic Counselling. I use an integrative approach with emphasis on both of these therapies and also draw on my own life experiences to help clients.
I work with adults, young people who are suffering from emotional turmoil in their lives. I use a range of gentle techniques to assist clients recognise and release painful feelings by working with the emotions rather than the mind. I believe the quality of our lives is influenced by our emotional health. The logical mind cannot change the way we feel about others and ourselves. If we feel emotionally ok we cope with the ups and downs of life; if we are feeling low, nothing seems right and we can become depressed and hopeless. The focus of sessions is to support your to achieve emotional wellbeing.

I am warm and accepting of all my client's experiences and feelings. I listen with understanding, without judgement and help my clients find solutions from within. With a greater sense of hopefulness and personal power, my clients are more able to resolve issues in an authentic way and develop their own goals with independence. I am empathetic and positive and include a gentle humour. I aim to provide a safe space to explore deep and difficult emotions.

Training, qualifications & experience
Katharine is an accredited member of The National Counselling Society (www.nationalcounsellingsociety.org), practising member of the Foundation for Emotional Therapeutic Counselling (www.emotionaltherapeuticcounselling.org.uk) and qualified Wellbeing Coach with the Association of Coaching and a yoga teacher with the British Wheel of Yoga (www.bwy.org.uk)
Katharine has a Diploma in Emotional Therapeutic Counselling from the Foundation for Emotional Therapeutic Counselling which qualifies her as safe and competent to practice. She is also recognised as an Accredited member of the National Counselling Society and her qualifications are approved by the NHS.

£40 per hour
(At the start a £40 deposit will be taken that is held in the event of a cancellation. If no cancellation is made throughout therapy the £40 will be used to pay for the last session)
I am very flexible and try to offer sessions to fit in with your life. I offer sessions over Zoom.
