About me

Living an Embodied Life

Mind-Body-Soul Therapy for Women. Globally online. In person sessions available in Glastonbury, Somerset.

In our work together, it is my intention to help you transform your experience and begin to delight in yourself once again. If you suffer with low self-esteem, little confidence and/or feel anxious, ashamed, afraid and self-doubting, I can support you to live a life with more ease, confidence, deepened intuition and self belief. You will grow in self-awareness and self-esteem and have an abundance of fresh insights as to the psychological structures that keep you locked in old patterns, behaviours and habits that no longer serve you. You will experience the freedom of feeling more present, centred in your body - in your own power - of being able to identify your own needs and put boundaries in place, As a result you’ll feel able to engage in life more fully and will have the tools in place to begin to navigate the ups and downs of life with ease, grace and a deep sense of trust - in yourself and in life.

Who am I?

I am a professionally trained and qualified psychotherapist (MA UKCP), and have been working therapeutically for over 15 years. Having been through my own profound psychological and spiritually embodied journey of healing and post traumatic growth, I now specialise in working with women who feel stuck, unsatisfied, lost, anxious, suffer low self esteem, have lost their voice, sense of self and lack an internal sense of authority; for those who feel disempowered and disembodied.

My approach

My approach supports a gentle integration of mind, body and spirit. We will explore the old stories, core beliefs and old unhealed wounds and trauma which keep us locked in the past and can interrupt our capacity to live a full nourishing life.  I will support you to identify and strengthen your existing resources whilst developing new ones; this leads to a greater sense of safety, satisfaction, autonomy and freedom. I support women to become more present, grounded, embodied, self-aware - more whole.

Training

My foundational training was as a Gestalt Psychotherapist - a therapy of mindfulness, self awareness and creativity, in which we get to know and understand ourselves and our experience intimately. All of my training since has been in trauma recovery, embodied somatic therapies and spiritual earth based animist practices.

Practical Details

I have recently relocated from London to Glastonbury. Though my client base is largely online I do have some limited in person availability should that be your preference. Please contact me via email or by phone and leave a message with your name and contact details. I will endeavour to respond to messages and emails within 24 hours.

Testimonials

“I came to Kate after years of battling with depression, cripplingly low self-worth and feelings of purposeless and lostness. Kate was so accepting of all of me, and her gentle yet deep process has had a profound impact on my life. With her help I reconnected with my body, my wisdom, my inner fire, and began unraveling all the false beliefs and conditionings that had kept me in pain. I now feel stable, safe in the world and at peace with myself. I have gained control over my life and I wouldn’t be the person I am today without her. Healing is possible and it is the most beautiful journey. Thank you Kate 🙏🏻”

Angelina

“Kate entered my life as a therapist during an exceptionally trying period. My journey with Kate has been nothing short of transformative. She created an incredibly safe and nurturing environment, something I had never experienced before. For the very first time, I truly felt seen and secure. Describing the profound changes in my life since working with Kate is a challenge in itself. Sometimes, I find myself in awe of how far I've come. I now embrace a sense of wholeness and happiness that I had long yearned for. I not only love myself but also cherish every aspect of my life. Kate has played an instrumental role in this incredible transformation, and I'm profoundly grateful for her guidance and support.”

Janice

"I cannot thank you enough for these past few years. I could not have arrived at the place I’m at now without them— my writing would be in a completely different place, as well as everything else. Your approach to therapy has also helped me to tap into more spiritual practices, and I just feel as though I now have so many exciting tools to move forwards with."

Registered / Accredited

Being registered/accredited with a professional body means an individual must have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by their member organisation.

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

UKCP
UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP)

The UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP) is a leading professional body for the education, training and regulation of psychotherapists and psychotherapeutic counsellors. Its register is accredited by the government's Professional Standards Authority.

As part of its commitment to protect the public, it works to improve access to psychotherapy, to support and disseminate research, to improve standards and to respond effectively to complaints against its members.

UKCP standards cover the range of different psychotherapies. Registration is obtained by training or accrediting with one of its member organisations, or by holding a European Certificate in Psychotherapy. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
