About me
Hello, my name is Kate and I am a qualified Integrative Counsellor and Psychotherapist offering therapy online or in person.
My approach is warm, flexible and collaborative. My primary focus is building a trusting therapeutic relationship in which clients feel safe to explore whatever brings them to therapy.
As an Integrative therapist I am trained to tailor therapy to the individual needs of each client, drawing from a range of evidence based approaches in which I am trained. My practice is most informed by humanistic, psychodynamic and attachment based, Internal Family Systems, and somatic/body informed models. I am interested in looking at both the here and now, and where current patterns and distress may be related to early experiences and relationships
I offer short, medium or longer term work.
Training, qualifications & experience
I have over 8 years of experience in mental health and therapeutic services across the NHS, private and third sector settings.
I work with a broad range of clients across a number of issues and concerns including but not limited to, trauma and abuse, loss and grief, relationship difficulties, identity, career and work related issues, life transitions, parenthood, fertility, and low self esteem.
I hold a BACP endorsed Post-graduate Diploma in Integrative Counselling and Psychotherapy from the University of East London. I am a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional (CCTP) and regularly update my skills and knowledge with continued professional development with training - I am currently in training in IFS and as an EFT couples therapist.
I am fully insured, DBS checked and am a registered member of the British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists and abide by its code of ethics.
Member organisations

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred). Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA). Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision. Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training. All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.

Further information
The initial session is an opportunity to discuss what brings you to therapy, your hopes, and crucially whether you feel comfortable working together. If we decide to go ahead we will then agree on logistics, such as frequency and time and take it from there.
Before booking an initial session, I offer a brief telephone/video call (free of charge) to give us an opportunity to explore whether we might be a 'good fit.'
If for any reason I’m not able to help, I always aim to offer alternative referral options.
