About me

I am an experienced Person-Centred Counsellor, with the belief that every individual has the capacity to change, given the right environment. My approach encourages and supports individuals to explore and find the answers themselves.

I have a diploma in Specialist fertility Counselling and accreditation in infant loss, 2 subjects that I am very passionate about.

As your counsellor, I offer a safe comfortable and fully confidential environment. I endeavour to offer my clients a relationship that is without judgement and is open and honest. I also offer a full hours counselling, as I have found in the past this has worked best for me and my clients. I would describe myself as a challenging counsellor, with the aim to have a deep and meaningful relationship to get to the heart of your problems and work through these.

I am the Founder and CEO of Motherwell Cheshire which focuses on the wellbeing of mums, by way of holistic therapy and therapeutic groups.

I am a mum of 3 young children and have in the past had person centred counselling, I valued the time that I had to explore my feelings in a safe and confidential environment.  With all my clients I strive to provide my clients with the same.

I have a vast experience of working closely with homeless individuals, and also single parents. My passion is working with survivors of/ or clients in an abusive relationship. I also have an in-depth knowledge of postnatal depression and Sexual Abuse and Rape. I also work with people who self-harm and individuals with drug and alcohol problems.

I run Continued Professional Development workshops throughout the year, all dates will be available on our website.

I also enjoy blogging, please visit my site www.kateblakemore.co.uk

I am a trained mediator and have experience of relationship counselling (however I am unable to counsel clients in a violent relationship)

In my current role, I work with individuals on self-esteem and anger issues, and explore ways forward with and causes that affect both.

I have a strong interest in Mindfulness and in the past have worked with clients on breathing techniques as well as a short meditation to help in stressful situations.

I have a fully enhanced CRB check, and I am fully insured.

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.
