Firstly, well done for finding the courage to reach out for help and taking that first step which is crucial for transforming your life. Although challenges are an unavoidable part of our existence, we are often overwhelmed by them and psychologically unequipped to deal with what life throws at us. However, in that hardship there is always an opportunity for growth and healing, which I have experienced myself as a result of my engagement in self-development started in my early 20s when I was struggling myself. Consequently, I developed a great passion for helping others to find their way forward, and for the last 13 years have provided clients with various forms of support of which counselling has proved to be the most rewarding.
Training, qualifications & experience
I am a qualified Psychosynthesis Counsellor with a background in psychology and ancient traditions such Yoga philosophy. Apart from my private practice, I am also involved with You Trust charity, providing counselling to victims of various forms of abuse and I am a part of Dorset Practice. My professional experience has been influenced by integrative, person-centered, transpersonal, psychospiritual, humanistic, CBT, ACT, motivational interviewing, and art therapeutic approaches, and I have worked with individuals experiencing various mental health problems such as, for example; different types of depression and anxiety, and PTSD, all forms of abuse, addictions, traumas, poor self-esteem and coping skills, emotional dysregulation, loss, stress, relationship issues and more. Psychosynthesis that I offer is a synthesis of different therapeutic approaches that can be applied accordingly to clients' needs. Apart from psychological and somatic aspects of a human being, it also includes spiritual qualities for those that seek deeper sense of self. In general, it involves a journey of self-discovery that can empower you to find solutions to your various problems and dilemmas and take control of your life, whilst making it more fulfilling, meaningful and purposeful.
I will do my best to help you find who you truly are, develop healthy coping skills and reach your full potential. I believe there is always a light at the end of the tunnel and would be honoured to help you find it, whilst guiding you throughout this process in a safe and confidential environment, where you can be truly listened to and accepted for who you are.
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)
BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).
Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.
Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.
All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.
Accredited register membership
Accredited Register Scheme
The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
