Choosing a therapist or counsellor that is right for you can be a tricky process which is why I offer the first session at a lower cost and commitment free. This is to give you an opportunity to meet me face to face, to ask any questions, and to review your needs in person before deciding if you want to start counselling with me.
What to expect from the first session?
The initial session is designed to offer you a confidential space to explore what troubles you and to assess whether counselling or psychotherapy may be helpful. It will provide you with a safe and non-judgmental environment where you can explore your feelings and thoughts and examine your choices. In this initial session I will also discuss with you how I work, and will explore what you are hoping to get from counselling or therapy. We can also discuss any doubts or hesitations that you may have about starting this process.
I am a fully accredited member of UK Council for Psychotherapy and have been working in the therapeutic field for over 15 years. My approach is holistic and designed to fit with the individual needs of each client. I integrate Transpersonal and Jungian Psychotherapy and Counselling, Body Psychotherapy and Integrative Psychosynthesis. I have a special interest in work around somatic expression of emotional issues and the mind-body connection.
I work with people from all walks of life, including those who want to explore their relationship problems, loss of meaning or direction in life, those suffering with stress related illnesses, anxiety, trauma & mood disorders. I also work with people who want to explore or reconnect with their creativity and those who are looking for spiritual guidance.
Training, qualifications & experience
I moved from former Yugoslavia to the UK in 1994 where I studied ‘Health Sciences & Homeopathy’ at the University of Westminster. In 2001 I attained the Licence to Practice from London College of Classical Homeopathy (LCCH). In 2007 I trained in Transpersonal Psychotherapy and Counselling at CCPE (Centre for Counselling and Psychotherapy Education) in London and completed post-diploma psychotherapy training at the Re-Vision, Centre for Integrative Psychosynthesis.
Over the past 15 years I worked at several clinics across London including the Polyclinic at the University of Westminster. I am currently practising at Chiswick Psychotherapy, Counselling and Homeopathy Clinic in West London, which I started running in 2003. I also facilitate psychotherapeutic and meditation workshops and groups and am the founder of Four Elements Dance & Movement Therapeutic Method. (http://four-elements-dmtm.com) If you are interested in dance and movement therapeutic meditation workshops that I run please check the above link for more information.
I had been practicing various forms of meditation for over 20 years, so I was particularly interested in how I could bring the therapeutic elements of meditation into therapeutic work. Consequently I started using mindfulness meditation with clients who suffered from depression and anxiety, which brought great relief to many. I often use creativity, movement and creative imagination in therapeutic work with my clients.
