About me

Welcome, my name is Karon-Lee.

All of us at some point will experience times when we feel overwhelmed or unable to cope. Feelings such as anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, grief, loss and loneliness can be upsetting and feel very painful to us.

I work with you in forming a trusting, supportive relationship that allows you to raise sensitive issues and provide you with emotional support in a caring and safe space so that you can start to make the changes you want in your life.  Talking and sharing your feelings is a necessary part of therapy, which might seem strange at first, but will leave you feeling listened to, less alone and accepted for who you are.

I am passionate about my work as it is my nature and personality to want to help people, so it is very important to me that you feel comfortable. I too have experienced difficulties within my life and had the benefit of counselling which led me to become a registered, qualified BACP, Dip.counsellor.    I also have an enhanced DBS (disclosure and barring service) for working with children and adults.

I work with various therapeutic approaches such as Person Centered, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Solution-Focused Therapy and Transactional Analysis (TA).  I am also a qualified Supervisor, providing supervision to qualified and trainee counsellors.

I have my own private practice and work as a counsellor for Mental Health Recovery & Well-being as well as providing a Wellbeing Counselling Programme to several Kent Primary and Senior Academies.

My background has always been working in a supportive role, promoting  counselling and independence to both adults and children in Mental Health, and as a Social Worker, also within Education, Social Prescribing & Health Improvements for the National Health Service, and Voluntary Services.

I am based in Maidstone. To arrange a session or discuss your needs, please contact me on 07707 478602. Alternatively you can message me at the top of this page or visit my website to find out more about me and use the contact form there. https://www.karonleeconsultancy.co.uk

Member organisations

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy

BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.

Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.

All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
