Karon Lee Preston Dip.Couns Registered MBACP
Welcome, my name is Karon-Lee.
Due to this unsettling time we are all facing I am still able to offer face to face counselling as well as video and telephone sessions in supporting your needs.
All of us at some point will experience times when we feel overwhelmed or unable to cope. Feelings such as anxiety, stress, depression, low self-esteem, grief, loss and loneliness can be upsetting and feel very painful to us. I can help you to explore and reflect upon these feelings restoring emotional well-being.
I can provide you with emotional and social support in a caring and supportive environment to enable you to make the changes you want in your life.
Talking and sharing your feelings is a necessary part of therapy, which might seem strange at first, but can leave you feeling listened to, less alone and accepted for who you are, and help you understand what is making you feel a certain way, in a safe, confidential environment without judgement.
I am passionate about my work as it is my nature and personality to want to help people. I too have experienced difficulties within my life and had the benefit of counselling which led me to become a registered, qualified BACP, Dip.counsellor. I also have an enhanced DBS (disclosure and barring service) for working with children and adults.
I work in a person-centred humanistic approach, in understanding your experience from your point of view and most importantly creating a trusting relationship. I have also been trained in other approaches and use CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy), Solution-Focused Therapy and TA (Transactional Analysis).
I have my own private practice, work as a counsellor for MIND Recovery & Wellbeing and provide a Wellbeing Counselling Programme to several Kent Primary schools and a Senior Acadamy.
My background has always been working in a supportive role, promoting independence and counselling to both adults and children within Mental Health, Social Services, Education, Social Prescribing & Health Improvements for the National Health Service, Community Youth Work, Voluntary Services, Mentoring.
I am based in Maidstone. To arrange an initial meeting or discuss your needs, please contact me on 07707 478602. Alternatively you can message me at the top of this page or visit my website to find out more about me and use the contact form there. https://www.karonleeconsultancy.co.uk

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
BACP is one of the UK’s largest professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy. Therapists registered with the Association fall into a number of different membership categories such as Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP and Registered Member MBACP (Accred), each standing for different levels of training and experience. MBACP (Accred) and MBACP (Snr Accred) members have achieved a substantial level of training and experience approved by the Association.
Registered members can be found on the BACP Register, which was the first register to achieve Accredited Voluntary Register status issued by the Professional Standards Authority. Individual Members will have completed an appropriate counselling and/or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but will not appear on the BACP Register until they've progressed to Registered Member MBACP status.
All members are bound by a Code of Ethics & Practice and a Complaints Procedure. Accredited by the Professional Standards Authority.

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).
