You might be struggling with your gender or sexuality and this confusion over your identity is impacting on your life. Perhaps you’re struggling with the loss of a loved one and can’t seem to get through the pain of the grief and would like someone to talk to, to help you move on in a healthier way without forgetting the person you’ve lost.
I offer confidential face to face counselling to adults from my therapy room in central Middlesbrough that focuses on overcoming depression, grief, low-mood, anxiety and dissatisfaction by understanding the root causes, transforming low self-esteem, confidence and self-worth as well as exploring problematic and unhelpful life patterns and habits.
In order to help you to meet your goals I need to understand what it’s like to be you, to understand how you think, feel and how you see yourself. To do this I’ll warmly welcome you in to a friendly, comfortable and safe space where I can ask you some questions about you and your life.
In my practice I use tools from my training as an integrative practitioner, with Transactional Analysis being my core model alongside other person-centred and creative approaches to figure out a way of working that is best suited to you, who you are and what you bring to the session.

Training, qualifications & experience
I am a fully qualified and BACP registered psychotherapeutic counsellor. I trained at the Northern Guild for Counselling and Psychotherapy, which is one of the leading training institutes in the North East.
I am a person-centred therapist who will tune in to you and your story to understand how you feel and determine what it is you need from therapy in order to achieve your goals.
As I perviously stated my core training is in Transactional Analysis and this forms the theoretical framework for the therapy that I offer. I integrate this theory with ideas and tools from the person-centred, creative, developmental and attachment based approaches such as; Gestalt Therapy, Erikson’s Developmental Theory and Attachment Theory.
I offer short and longer term therapy, most of my experience has been gained working in NHS settings as well as private counselling services with people over a number of weeks, months or years to really understand the root of their problems, to create lasting, positive transformations.
I enjoy allowing for the process to develop naturally and in a way that reflects the person I’m working with. With me, you will be allowed the freedom to truly follow your own process; discovering your authentic self and implementing the changes that you seek at your own pace and in your own way, which really is the key to true, long lasting healing.

Sessions last for 50-minutes and are £45 per session. Your first session is half-price and there is never an obligation to commit to further sessions if you don't feel 100% happy with doing so.
Payment is made at the point of booking via bank transfer, within 24hrs of the booking.
I operate a one week cancellation policy, notice of a cancellation less than one week beforehand will be chargeable at the full fee.

My therapy room is located in Park View Clinic, Middlesbrough. We are lucky to have access to free parking - there are usually plenty of spaces available.
Counselling with me is tailored to you and your needs. My goal is to find an arrangement that works for you. This includes considering things like your availability, time-frames for therapy as well as frequency of our sessions.
I offer short-term, solution-focussed therapy (6-8 sessions) as well as in-depth therapy over a longer period of time, to suit your situation, circumstances and preferences.
