About me

Hello, I'm Karena. I understand that seeking help for yourself or your relationship can be a daunting task, but I'm here to make the process as easy and comfortable as possible.

If you choose to share your thoughts, feelings or experiences with me, individually or as a couple, I will listen to you without any judgment or bias. I will never take sides or treat you differently because of what you have been through. My goal is to offer you a warm and supportive environment where you can feel heard and understood.

The modern world comes with its own unique challenges, and I'm here to help you navigate them. Whether you're dealing with low self-esteem, anxiety, major life changes, or simply struggling to connect with your authentic self, I'm here to provide you with a welcoming and non-judgmental environment where you can feel heard and supported.

As a counsellor, I aim to empower you to rediscover the neglected parts of your life, find inner peace, and increase your self-reliance and resilience.

I strongly believe that all my clients are unique. That's why I work using a person-centred approach that focuses on developing your inner strength and self-trust. This approach can help you make positive changes in your life and improve your relationships with yourself and others.

I'm passionate about helping those who feel lost and don't know where to turn or even how to start the healing process. Together we will explore your needs and desires, helping you move towards a happier and healthier life.

If you're ready to take the first step towards creating positive change in your life, please don't hesitate to contact me today.

Training, qualifications & experience

Since qualifying in 2020, I have worked for various organisations, including The GreenOak Foundation as well as the voluntary and educational sectors.

Member organisations

BACP
British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy (BACP)

BACP is one of the UK’s leading professional bodies for counselling and psychotherapy with around 60,000 members. The Association has several different categories of membership, including Student Member, Individual Member, Registered Member MBACP, Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Accred) and Senior Registered Accredited Member MBACP (Snr Acccred).

Registered and accredited members are listed on the BACP Register, which shows that they have demonstrated BACP’s recommended standards for training, proficiency and ethical practice. The BACP Register was the first register of psychological therapists to be accredited by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

Accredited and senior accredited membership are voluntary categories for members who choose to undertake a rigorous application and assessment process to demonstrate additional standards around practice, training and supervision.

Individual members will have completed an appropriate counselling or psychotherapy course and started to practise, but they won’t appear on the BACP Register until they've demonstrated that they meet the standards for registration. Student members are still in the process of completing their training.

All members are bound by the BACP Ethical Framework and a Professional Conduct Procedure.

Accredited register membership

British Association for Counselling & Psychotherapy
Accredited Register Scheme

The Accredited Register Scheme was set up in 2013 by the Department of Health (DoH) as a way to recognise organisations that hold voluntary registers which meet certain standards. These standards are set by the Professional Standards Authority (PSA).

This therapist has indicated that they belong to an Accredited Register.
