Dr Karen Williams
Hello, I'm Karen. I’m here to help if you are finding life tough at the moment. Perhaps you feel scared, anxious and fed up? Maybe you have experienced a loss in your life and you're feeling unsure about what to do and where to go next? Perhaps there are things you want to do in life, and you can't because they feel too scary? Or maybe you're unsure about what you want out of life and feel stuck in a rut? Sometimes life can feel like an uphill struggle and we need some help to change things for the better.
I'm here to listen. Through sharing your worries and concerns with me, we can make sense of how things are for you and I can support you to make changes that move you towards a better, happier and more meaningful life. To find a new way of living that sustains you and helps you feel alive in the world.
I am a clinical psychologist and online therapist offering therapy in the UK via video, instant messaging and email that helps you overcome your fears and feel alive again. Facing your fears is tough. I'm here to help you do it.
My approach to therapy
We all need a little help at times, as life is messy and being human is tough. My approach to therapy is to give you what you need at this time in your life and is informed by my training as a clinical psychologist. We can think together about how I can best support you to live a better life. Training as a clinical psychologist has given me the advantage of being able to draw on a variety of approaches to therapy than can help people make changes that make a real difference, such as:
- Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT)
- Solution Focused Therapy (SFT)
- Compassion Focused Therapy (CFT)
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
I have a diploma in online counselling and I am passionate about working as an online therapist, as I very much enjoy seeing the benefits of working with people using technology.
