We all experience times in our lives when thoughts, feelings and situations can feel challenging and difficult to manage. Online therapy gives you the opportunity to share your worries and concerns, in addition to making sense of your difficulties, at a time and place that suits you. I offer a compassionate, confidential and non-judgemental service via webcam, instant messaging and email that respects your individual needs and choices.
I am a clinical psychologist registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). I am also a member of the British Psychological Society (BPS) and the Association for Counselling and Therapy Online (ACTO).
I work as an online therapist in accordance with the professional and ethical standards of each of these organisations. I have worked within a variety of roles supporting individuals at difficult times in their lives for the past 15 years, including as a clinical psychologist. My previous experience as a clinical psychologist includes working within a chronic pain service at Haywood Hospital and as the lead clinical psychologist for the eating disorder and rehabilitation services at The Priory Hospital, Cheadle Royal.
Since qualifying as a clinical psychologist, I have completed a diploma in online counselling, which has prepared me to work as an online therapist. I now work within private practice and I am passionate about supporting individuals via online therapy.
My approach to therapy
My main aim is to help you to handle painful thoughts and feelings in a way that reduces the negative impact they have on your life. I also aim to help you clarify what is important and meaningful to you, which enables us to consider what steps you could take towards living a more enriched and fulfilled life.
I always tailor my approach to your individual needs and preferences, drawing on a range of psychological models as appropriate, in addition to considering your preferred medium of therapy (webcam, instant messaging, email). Having completed a doctorate in clinical psychology, I am trained in Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT). I also specialise in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Solution Focused Therapy (SFT), having completed further training in each of these approaches.
